A-1 Tack & Western Wear
Business Hours
Mon. - Sat. from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday until 9 p.m.

A-1 Tack & Western has everything to outfit the cowboy and cowgirl in everybody.

"Tack and clothing, we have something for the whole family," says Mike Larose, who owns the store with his wife, Gale. A-1 Western Wear stocks a wide selection of jeans, jackets, belts, hats and boots in famous brand names in their 3,000-square foot building. The couple invites everyone to come in and have a look.

Besides clothing, the store also stocks giftware for all ages. Carvings made out of buffalo horns depicting nature scenes with eagles and owls are gorgeous. The horns are taken from animals raised only for food and have no value.

Statues of wildlife, brass ornaments and woodwork wall hangings are attractive and can add pizzazz to any room. So do the vases from Sunset House artist Oliver Cardinal. Check out his eye-catching work. A selection of Montana silver jewelry also makes a perfect gift. Moosehide gloves are not only warm but attractive. They make a great and practical gift.

Leather goods manufactured by various companies include purses, moccasins and gloves -- all with a western flavour. The store has hundreds of hats in both the Bailey and Master hatters (Wrangler) makes. They are hung around the store to add an attractive look to the premises. And what would a western store be without a wide choice of jeans? A-1 Tack has all the famous brand names and sizes in dress, casual and workwear including Rocky Blaze, Wrangler and Roper. Customers will enjoy browsing through the boot section at the back of the store. Its hardwood finish only adds to the rustic wood finish throughout the store.

And if your heart is heavy for your favourite animal, A-1 has tack. "We really want to promote the tack," says Larose. One wall is set aside for halters, ropes, horse blankets and other assorted supplies for the cowboy. Their attractive designs will only complement the outfit you've already purchased from the store. Everyone is invited to come in and have a look.
