Photo Gallery

And if you have never seen a rodeo, maybe this should be the year you come and see what one is all about. You might be hooked.
July brings on High Prairie’s biggest event of the summer season-the Elks Pro Rodeo.
Spectators will be thrilled to watch some of the finest professional male and female rodeo competitors in the world. Current and former world championship winners on the rodeo circuit often compete at this rodeo.
As is tradition, the Elks Stampede Parade kicks off the first day and winding its way through High Prairie. Pony chariot races start at the stampede grounds, followed by the rodeo events. The chuckwagon events end the first evening of competition.
And after a hard day of cheering on the cowboys and cowgirls, what better way to relax than to attend the rodeo dances?
The second day of the rodeo starts off again with the chariot races followed by the rodeo events at and ending with the chuckwagon races.
Other attractions at the grounds include a beer gardens, a spectacular mid-way and concession stands.
And to top it all off, merchants in High Prairie usually offer terrific sales that residents and tourists can take advantage of during the Elks rodeo.
For information on the Elks Pro rodeo contact the Elks office at 780-523-3724.
