The painting is on the wall

Photo Gallery

In an effort to bring some of the history of McLennan into view, a painter was hired last year to paint murals of the chronological history of the town.
Roger Noskye painted the town in order from the time the natives were here; to the Missionaries; on to the goldrush; on to the Alaska rail line and finally to when the town was settled.
Eventually tourists will be able to get brochures explaining the paintings, but for now they are invited to drive or walk around the town and discover the many murals that decorate the buildings.
The cost of painting the murals, about $8,000, was funded by the Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development and private donations.
Besides historical murals, Noskeye also painted several businesses and private residences. The next town to have hired his services is the Town of Falher.
